Baroque Trio Sonatas: Corelli & Beyond

What better way to welcome the new year than by listening to some  glorious Baroque music in one of Valletta’s most beautiful Baroque spaces? 

The Trio Sonata emerged as one of the most important instrumental chamber formations in the Baroque period - a form that permeated secular and sacred environments. It also provided composers with a platform for experimentation, with inventive approaches to form and content. This recital presents Trio Sonatas from composers like Vitali, Leclair, Telemann, and of course Corelli whose Trio Sonatas were among the most influential chamber works of the period.
