ECHOES OF NOW

Echoes of now brings together a selection of sculptures spanning several years of practice by Chris Ebejer. Conceived as an anthology exhibition, it presents works that reflect the continuity of the artist’s formal inquiry into mass, balance, fragmentation, and spatial tension.

Installed within the architectural and acoustic resonance of the Oratory of the Immaculata, within the Jesuit Church complex, the sculptures engage in dialogue with the Baroque surroundings, emphasizing presence, materiality, and restraint. Bronze, terracotta, and porcelain forms speak to us, each echoing its own narrative.

In this space shaped by devotion and acoustics, sculpture assumes another dimension. Each form holds its own silence; each surface bears the trace of labour, fire, and transformation, and each work becomes a vessel of memory for tomorrow.

In the Oratory’s atmosphere of reverberation, these sculptures become echoes, of our presence. They recall past gestures while asserting their immediacy. They are fragments of time, gathered…
