Join us for the opening concert in our 25/26 cultural season!
As ‘The Oratories’ enters its fifth season, this year’s season opening concert will be held inside the main church and it will mark the first concert inside the church since its reopening. For this occasion the Jesuits Church Foundation has commissioned a special celebratory oratorio titled ‘Salvator Mundi’ from its Artistic Director, Alex Vella Gregory.
‘Salvator Mundi’ traces the infancy of Christ through the words of the Synoptic Gospels, right up until his baptism by Saint John the Baptist. The work ties in with the dedication of the Jesuits’ Church to the Circumcision of Christ.
The Oratorio is written for symphonic wind band, 5 soloists, and choir. We are very honoured to have the Armed Forces of Malta Band, under the direction of Cpt. Twanny Borg, premiering this work.
