About the event
The flute, one of the oldest instruments known to humanity, enjoyed a great revival in the 18th century. This recital is a tribute to the flute throughout the 18th century as it emerged as one of the great solo instruments of the era, spanning Baroque, Rococo, and Classical styles. The recital includes works by J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, C.P.E. Bach and Gluck, including sonatas and concertos that display the whole range of this most elegant of instruments.
